The Mac version won't launch. Either it gives me an error, or nothing happens at all.
This should be fixed in Beta 3 (very soon, if all goes well). If Beta 3 doesn't fix the problem, Please let us know.
After I play for several minutes on a Mac, the graphics get super-slow and choppy.
This... er... "feature" will be fixed in Beta 3, available Monday 5/17/04.

 

On a Macintosh, I downloaded the ZIP file, but I can't open it, or I get an error 17535.

Ben's Game is packed into a "zip" file so that Mac and PC users can all use the same download. Some users may not have a program which opens zip files. If you're experiencing this, there are several free or shareware programs which can help. One popular (and free) program is Stuffit Expander by Aladdin Systems, at www.stuffit.com/mac/expander

 

On a PC, I'm getting an error that it can't find "glut32.dll".

This file should be included in the game folder. This is the OpenGL Utility Toolkit, a utility which helps Ben's Game work on both Mac and PC. First, check to see that it's there. If it is there, but you're still getting an error, you can try getting the latest version of this library from www.pobox.com/~nate/glut.html. Thanks to Nate Robins and Mark Kilgard for providing this excellent utility!

How do I stop the camera from spinning out of control?
Wow, talk about being a test pilot! The "wildly spinning camera" bug will be fixed in Beta 2 (to be posted today),   BUT you can also fix it yourself right away. If you have a joystick or other game controller plugged in, try unplugging it and re-launching Ben's Game.
Additionally, Beta 2 has a very powerful new weapon (maybe TOO powerful). By collecting three MISSILES in a row, you can activate a super-missile, which can sometimes clear the whole board in one shot. Try it, and let us know what you think!
 
On Windows, I get an error about "Ordinal 11" or "DSOUND.DLL".
You probably need to update to the latest DirectX version at www.microsoft.com/directx.
My buttons are missing or jumbled.
